I have to deal with a lot of rude and bitchy people constantly at my job which you know if saw my last post or ever read any of the crap I write because most of it is me ranting about work so I can just get it out.
This morning during our morning meeting my boss said we had about 350 kids coming on field trips so she said that whoever was working outside should call if they need help ushering the animal show. No one said they were the one working outside so she asked everyone where they were and after the last person said their position we realized someone didn’t show up. My boss never said anything about moving someone out there or who would be ushering. The animal shows are at 11 and 12 Tuesday - Sunday. Today there was only one since they had two yesterday for memorial day. I always tell everyone when I’m on a register to show up at least 10 minutes early for shows to gaurentee yourself a seat because once they start you’re not allowed to sit down. At 10:47 I got a call from our retail manager asking me  if the girl I was training and I could help usher, so I locked my computer and we headed down there. It’s a couple minutes to walk there so we got there about 10:50 and there were already about 200 people. They like to keep track of the amount of people at each show so we have stupid clicker things to use. The girl I was with went through each row in the amphitheatre to count and I counted everyone else that was heading in. A few minutes later a woman starts walking towards me with her toddler in a stroller. I told her that I was sorry but she couldn’t have her stroller in the amphitheatre so she could leave it where I was standing and take a seat. She didn’t want to take her kid out and seemed annoyed so I said there was a deck just off to my left where she could see the show from too . There was more that happened that I can’t remember but it ended with her being pissed and almost storming off. Really? Because holding your child is such an inconvience? I don’t know why people make things so complicated. It’s a damn amphitheatre with already a couple hundred people sitting down, even if there was some room where you could fit the stroller it’s a distraction to not only the people around you but the animals that are in the show. There are a few birds that don’t always fly where they’re supposed to. For example, yesterday I worked outside and one of the cockatoos decided to dive towards me in both shows and flew 5 inches from my face during the last. People are just basically idiots that come to the park I work. They don’t like to be asked for ID’s when they have their membership card even though they’re told when they buy one to make sure they have their ID’s with them every time. They don’t like to be told they can’t take their strollers while going to sit down… they don’t listen when you explain where things are. Which reminds me while I was ushering before the show started a woman walked up to me and asked where the exhibits were. I said “just walk over there to the entrance, take a left and then go across the boardwalk to the museum” ”we just came from there” so I looked at her because she didn’t name anything specific, “Where is the butterfly house?” “Ok, just go to your left of this building and it’s in the forest” “Well… that’s what I was asking about” (in a tone that would have made anyone want to punch her in the face) Really… like I could read her fucking mind and knew what she had alraady seen! Complete fucking idiots. I swear, if I could get away with it I’d be a total bitch to everyone who spoke to me like that.

At work yesterday...

  1. Me: Do you have your ID with you?
  2. Customer: No. I've never been asked that before.
  3. Me Ok, we'll we're supposed to ask everyone.
  4. Customer: Well, I've never been asked.
  5. Me: Ok, most people do ask though.
  6. Customer: That's not true.
  7. Me: That is true.
  8. Customer. You don't need to be rude.
  9. Me: I'm not being rude.
  10. Customer: You're being very argumentative
  11. Me: (in my mind "bitch!!") ...
